Who we are, what we publish, and how the site is funded — plain-English AI help built around the everyday tasks real people need to get done.

Everyday AI is an independent site that explains, in plain English, how to actually use AI in everyday life — plus a few free tools that run entirely in your browser. It is written for ordinary people getting things done, not for researchers, developers, or anyone hoping to sell you a subscription.

The problem we're trying to solve

If you are not technical, most AI advice is useless to you. It is aimed at developers, buried in hype, or a thinly disguised ad. So a lot of people who could genuinely save time with these tools never get past the blank text box — or get burned once and quietly give up on the whole thing.

We start from the opposite end: a real task you already have. A wordy email you're avoiding. A blurry old family photo. A budget you can never make stick. Every guide walks through one of those, start to finish, with the exact words to type, the honest limits, and what to check before you trust the result.

What we publish

• Step-by-step guides — getting started, everyday assistant use, writing and email, photos and images, no-code automation, and money and work.
• Honest limits — where AI genuinely helps, and where it quietly wastes your time or just makes things up. We would rather tell you not to bother than pad out a guide.
• Free tools — a multi-step tool picker plus a few small browser-based calculators. They all run on your own device; nothing you type is sent to us or stored anywhere.

Who writes it

Every article carries a named byline and a date. Our writers cover consumer technology, personal finance, everyday writing and photo editing, and each guide is written by someone comfortable with the subject. Maya Brennan edits the site.

How we handle numbers

The only frequently-changing data we publish is model API pricing, and we keep it in a single maintained table with a verification date and links to each provider's own pricing page. You can inspect the whole thing on the model pricing page. If the date there looks stale, treat the figures as indicative and check the provider.

How the site is funded

Everyday AI is free to read and supported by display advertising served through Google Ad Manager. Advertisers have no input into what we cover or what we conclude, we do not sell placement in any guide or in the tool picker, and no article is written or amended at an advertiser's request. Our editorial standards set out how we keep that line.

What we are not

We are not affiliated with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or any other AI provider. We are not a reseller or a consultancy. Nothing here is legal, financial, or professional advice — it is general information, and decisions with real money or real risk attached should involve someone qualified who knows your situation.
